On June 5, World Environment Day and FUNBIO’s 28th Anniversary, we open submissions for the seventh edition of the FUNBIO Grants Program—Conserving the Future, in partnership with Fonseca Leadership Program of the Global Environment Facility

Since its launch in 2018, the program has supported 186 projects across 20 states + the Federal Capital District. Of these, 36 grants were awarded to master’s degree candidates and 150 to doctoral researchers at 36 different universities. 104 of these grants went to women, and 82 to men.

This year, R$ 1 million in funding will be awarded to field research projects dealing with biodiversity conservation. Researchers Brazil-wide can apply for the grants—amounts of up to R$20 thousand for master’s degree projects and up to R$38 thousand for PhDs—and the deadline for submissions is July 31
